Summary Description

Robertson Wathan is part of the Llawhaden community which in medieval times the barony of Llawhaden was the richest of the properties of St David’s. Bernard, the first Norman Bishop of St David’s built a ring work castle in 1120 to protect the area from invasion. The church tower was, like many South Pembrokeshire, seen as a place of refuge in times of trouble, the key to the tower being kept by the ‘Lord of the Manor’.
