Summary Description

Mentioned in the Mabinogion, this is where ‘King Arthur hunted the magical boar’. The church and village enjoy a pleasant wooded outlook while the extensive parish includes the Neolithic burial chamber Pentre Ifan on the Preseli mountains. There were Irish settlers here from the C5 leading to the C11 description of the people of Nevern as ‘Gwyddyl diefyl duon’ – ‘Black Irish Devils’. Reference Buildings of Wales –Pembrokeshire 2004
