Summary Description

Llantrisant is the home of the Royal Mint situated in the town’s business park. The church is high above the present town centre of Talbot Green and the church is next to the remains of the castle. It was formerly the caput of the commote of Miskin. The castle was the work of the de Clare family, Lords of Glamorgan and as small borough was founded by them next to the castle. The commanding position of the church and borough overlooking the vale of Glamorgan while commanding a route in to the mountainous area of the county.
