Summary Description

Hugh of Avranches, earl of Chester, better known as Hugh the fat died in 1101 after desecrating this church according to Gerald Cambrensis. It is also the birthplace of Revd Hugh Davies who catalogued the plants of Anglesey in 1813, this was the first county flora in Wales so was a landmark event in the botany of Wales.
